Boom time for Marnane

first_img “He’s in great nick and we think he’s improving. He ran very well the last day and he’s holding his form very well,” he said. “We’re hoping the rain stays away. That’s the only problem. I’d want good ground. I’m hoping it stays dry.” Great White Eagle’s trainer Aidan O’Brien relies on Guerre, winner of his only start over the course and distance just two weeks ago. “He should have learned from it and we’re happy with him. This race will tell us more about what targets there might be for him,” O’Brien said on www.coolmore.com. David Wachman’s Pleasant Bay was fourth behind stablemate Come To Heel in the Listed Irish Field Curragh Stakes at the County Kildare venue over the minimum trip in August, when Boom The Groom was third. Jim Bolger is responsible for two of the eight runners in the shape of newcomer Flight Risk and the experienced Freedom Square. Eddie Lynam runs Monsieur Power, who was third to Freedom Square on his only run so far at the Curragh in June. Paul Deegan steps Shining Emerald up in class after the Clodovil colt took a seven-furlong maiden at Listowel by 16 lengths recently, while Sheila Lavery’s filly Lady Ultra is a nursery winner at this track. David Marnane is praying the rain stays away ahead of Boom The Groom’s run in the Anglesey Lodge Equine Blenheim Stakes at the Curragh. The County Tipperary trainer reports the Kodiac colt to be in fine shape after his latest start when he was fourth to the odds-on Great White Eagle in the Group Three Round Tower Stakes over this course and distance four weeks ago. However, Marnane would like conditions to remain on the good side. center_img Press Associationlast_img read more
